第四部分 写作
第一节 应用文写作(满分 15 分)
Friendliness is a traditional virtue of the Chinese people. We need to pay attention to the small
details in our daily life, such as greeting people with a smile when walking in the street or helping
others in need. Such little actions can help bridge the gap between people and create a harmonious
society. Moreover, friendly behavior has a great potential to make a positive impact on the lives of
those we interact with. Therefore, it is important that we start encouraging kindness and respect to
others. Let’s create a friendlier world together!
第二节 读后续写(满分 25 分)
Paragraph 1:
As John was farther from the snake, he jumped to the window and grabbed the curtain. He
pulled it so hard that the curtain was torn off immediately. Without hesitation, he threw the curtain
at the moving snake and covered it. Then he grabbed the two extremely frightened kids' arms and
pushed them out of the room. The moment the kids went out, they started screaming. John went
inside the room again and brought his mom out, who was standing still, frozen with fear. Soon
after that, he shut the door and called the rescue team.
Paragraph 2:
After the rescue team caught and took away the snake, everyone went inside the home.
Seeing the two kids were still scared, John felt guilty and even angry with himself. He went up to
the kids, patting them on the head and said, “I'm sorry. I mistook it for a fake one.” After a short
pause, he asked in an excited voice, “Shall we play some game together now?” The kids burst into
a smile. “What a thrilling day!” John texted his friend later that day.

haven’t heard from her.
W: I’m not sure, either. Ask mom when she’s home. I’m sure she knows.
Text3
W: What’s your New Year resolution, Jeff?
M: I’m going to lose weight this year. And I’m going to learn driving. Dad has promised to buy
me a car.
Text4
W: I think I need a new notebook.
M: Why? Is there a new, big and cool computer out on the market?
W: No, mine doesn’t work.
Text5
W: I’ve decided to get rid of some of my old shoes. Do you have any suggestions?
M: Yes. Have you planned to throw them away? Why not sell them online?
Text6
M: Hasn’t it been hard for you without your sister and brother, Mom?
W: Yes, Sam, of course. We haven’t seen each other for a long time.
M: Mom, I have a surprise for you! I’ll go on a business trip to Russia. I want you to come with
me. You can meet them finally.
W: No, Sam. It’s very thoughtful of you, but I’m too old and sick to travel so far.

M: Grace, I heard from the personnel (人事部) manager that you’re going to be sent to Singapore.
Are you looking forward to it?
W: Sure, Steve. This gives me a chance to work with Taylor.

W: I hope so. I’ve never been out of the country, so I’m very nervous about it.

W: I’m sorry the tickets to New York for this afternoon have been sold out. But we still have some
left for this evening.
M: For this evening? I’m not used to traveling in the evening.
W: Why? An evening flight will cost much less.
M: I think it’s more dangerous to travel at night.
W: So what about a flight tomorrow morning? It takes off at 6:06. And it arrives at New York one
and a half hours later.
M: All right. I’ll take this one. How much is it?
W: Four hundred and eighty dollars.

M: No problem, but I’ll have to check another purchase order, which is to be finished this Friday.
Now I’m in Shanghai on business. Anyway, I’ll let you know when I come back. And then we can
sign a contract.
W: Thanks.
M: Well, I’m afraid we can’t send the products until after the Christmas holidays. We will begin
our holiday in New York next Tuesday, and our company will be closed for two weeks.
W: That’s all right. We’ll try to have a meeting for the details of the order and send it to you this
Thursday. I hope you tell your market manager about it.
M: OK. Once we get our purchase order, we will begin preparing your bookings.
W: Thanks. We need the products in one month.
M: Fine.

M: Many people in the USA are really dependent on their cars to go to work or school. In fact,
most American workers spend an hour driving to work each day. In order to drive in the USA, you
have to go to your local Department of Motor Vehicles first, and take a written test to get your
learner’s permit. If you pass this test, you can practice driving and then you can pass a road test
and get your license. To prepare for the road test, you can take classes at a driving school. If you
cannot, you can practice driving by yourself. If you are caught driving with only a learner’s permit,
you may get into trouble with the law. Once you get your driver’s license in one state, you can
drive in all of the states in America. Wherever you drive, you will see signs posted along the road
indicating the speed limit. The local police use special equipment to test your speed. If they find
you are speeding or driving over the speed limit, the police can stop you and give you a ticket.
