my opinions on Technology and Life.

countless convenience to people’s life.

Facial recognition, as a widely used technology in our life, makes it easy for us to get into

stations, the airport and other places. Additionally, the high-speed railway shortens the travelling

time between two cities, enabling us to visit more places conveniently. What impressed us most is

mobile payment which allows us to pay for everything wherever there is a QR code.

【导语】Giant 未归之前意外分享花园,花园里孩童嬉戏,鸟儿高歌,一片春的气息。孩童

{#{QQABKYCEogggQgAAAQgCQwGyCAEQkBACAKoGwAAAsAABAQFABAA=}#}

One possible version:

Surprisingly, he saw a most wonderful sight. In the branches of the trees were sitting little

children. The trees were so glad that they had covered themselves with blossoms. The birds were

flying about twittering with delight. The flowers were looking up through the green grass laughing.

In a corner remained winter and a little boy was crying bitterly for he could not reach up to the

branches of the tree. “How selfish I have been!” he said, “now I know why the Spring would not

come here. I will put that poor little boy on the top of the tree.” (93 词)

With these words in mind, the Giant decided to help the crying boy. Stepping into the garden,

the Giant saw the children all running away frightened. Only the little boy did not run, for he was

too sad to notice him coming. The Giant approached, took him gently in his hand and put him up

into the tree. Suddenly, the tree broke into blossom and the birds came and sang. Seeing this, the

other children ran back and with them came the Spring. “It is your garden now, little children,”

said the Giant and he took a great axe and knocked down the wall. (91 词)

听力文本

Text 1

W: James, you've been watching TV for the whole evening. What's on?

M: It's a science programme on the origin of the universe. I'll give a speech on it in my class

tomorrow.

Text 2

M: I heard you had seen the latest film. Many famous stars took part in it How was it?

W: Its picture indeed attracts many eyeballs, but its story is boring, for every step in the movie is

easily predicted.

Text 3

M: Wonderful view from up here, isn't it?

W: Great. But I'm worn out. We're at the top, aren't we?

{#{QQABKYCEogggQgAAAQgCQwGyCAEQkBACAKoGwAAAsAABAQFABAA=}#}

M: Just about three hundred metres to go. The top temple is visible.

Text 4

M: I'd like to have a tailored jacket, please.

W: So what style do you like?

M: Just this one. And I'd like a fold at the back of my jacket.

W: OK. Take off your coat please. I will take your measurement.

Text 5

W: Jim, do you know Tony Taylor, Mrs Taylor's son? Despite many hardships, he actually

achieved his objective and made it to the South Pole.

M: Oh, I know him. He is a great explorer. Being brave gives him a distinct advantage.

Text 6

W: Scientists are too serious, I think. They don't know how to enjoy life.

M: But it's true that some of them like music. Some world-famous scientists can play some

musical instruments. For example, Einstein can play the violin very well. Tu Youyou enjoys

playing the piano. And some like the guitar.

W: Really? Do they have spare time?

M: Yes. Scientists have committed most of their time to research work. Sometimes they feel so

stressed that they have to find a way to relax. So some turn to sports and some go in for music.

Text 7

W: Hi, John. What is your imagination about life in 20 years’ time?

M: Well, I suppose it must be greatly improved due to high tech. Take transportation for example.

The system of transportation will be more intelligent. We can dream of a traffic-accident-free

world in the future.

W: I can't agree with you more. lt is possible that the traffic messages will be flashed on the

windscreen of the cars.

M: Perhaps all cars and planes will be powered by electricity or solar energy because our natural

resources are running out.

W: That sounds fine.

M: And there will be smart houses, which could control the air conditioning and lights. They will

make life easier. I think this technological fantasy will come true.

W: Cool!

Text 8

W: Hello, Bill. Have you got something to share with us?

M: Yeah. I was so stressed out. I mean, the last few years were the worst. When you're making

much money. you're spending a lot! The stress was too much when I tried to make the amount

of money to support that lifestyle. To be honest, I was really having health problems as a result

of the stress.

W: I'm sorry to hear that. Did you find any solution to that?

M: Yes. I decided to reduce stress ... to relax. I changed my big house into a small one and reduced

my four cars to two. Then I took a stress-free job. Now I have much time to spend with my

family and I'm happy.

W: How nice! OK, it's time for today's programme. Thank you, Bill.

Text 9

M: I love this amusement park, Mary! Thanks for suggesting it. I am having a fantastic time.

{#{QQABKYCEogggQgAAAQgCQwGyCAEQkBACAKoGwAAAsAABAQFABAA=}#}

There's that new ride! It's called, “The Volcano”, and it’s supposed to be amazing.

W: That looks awfully high. Do you really want to try it? We've experienced “The Rocket and the

giant Ferris Wheel. Don't you think that's enough? And I am absolutely hungry.

M: If You come on “The Volcano” with me. I'll buy you a pizza with whatever toppings you want.

W: Do you really mean any topping, even mushrooms, which you don't like?

M: Yes. I will even order a pizza with mushrooms!

W: OK, Michael. I will try this last ride.

M: Great, Mary! I know you will enjoy this. Did you know when the volcano erupts, our seats

shake? I heard it is quite an experience. Look at the people getting off the ride. They look very

satisfied.

W: I’m sorry, but I don’t think I can do this, even for pizza. How would you feel if l bought lunch

instead?

W: I don't want to force you to do something you really don’t want to do. And I am hungry. Sure,

let's get some lunch, my treat.

Text 10

M: Space Camp, Florida, which is right next to NASA's famous Kennedy Space Centre, is a place

where people can go to learn about space travel. Many activities are offered which provide visitors

with the excitement of being in space. One of the many attractions is the Gravity Chair, which

lets you see exactly how difficult walking in space really is! There is also a project which gives

you the opportunity to build your own rocket and see it take off!

Camp programmes are designed for children and adults who want to experience an astronaut's

life. The “Space Habitat is a place where you can eat freeze-dried food and sleep in a special bed,

just like a real astronaut! Regrettably though, children who are under nine years old are not

allowed to take part in these programmes which last five days. The cost for adults is $875 and the

kids $325 cheaper. There is a family ticket price of $1,500. It is a little expensive, but it is really

worth it.
